The quartet won the second prize at the International Mozart Competition from Cluj and the Erste Wiener Klassik Preis in Reichenau, Austria, with Norbert Brainin, Sigmund Nissel, Devich Sandor, Gunter Pichler and Milan Skampa in the jury.

The quartet time to time has masterclasses at the Liszt Ferenc Academy from Budapest with the Bartok quartet, finishing also with the continuous support of Stefan Metz with the highest possible notes the Dutch String Quartet Academy from Amsterdam.

In November 2009 inside the fourth “Tiberius Week” International Chamber Music Festival the quartet will perform with members of Bartok (Hungary), Orlando
(the Netherlands), Chilingirian (England) and Fine Arts (USA) quartet, but also with lot of friends all over the world.

This is the only major event in East-Europe of this type.
Since 2007 the quartet becames the State String Quartet of the Targu Mures Philarmonic Orchestra playing 29 concerts in the season.

The string quartet has concerts all over Europe,
their repertoire being focused mostly on works from Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Brahms and Schubert.

The Tiberius Quartet was founded in 1994 by
Devich Sandor (Bartok Quartet) at the Academy
of Music from Cluj, Romania. With his help the quartet attended the best possible masterclasses

Int. Bartok Seminar Szombathely, Hungary (1995) Internationale Sommerakademie Prag-Wien-Budapest Reichenau, Austria (1996-97-98-2004)
Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies Aldeburgh, England (1998-2000)
Orlando Festival (1998-2004) the Netherlands, where they met Madame Isabelle Bensa who reccomended the Tiberius quartet  to the Amadeus Summer Course from London course attended four times.
Later the quartet attended twice the Chilingirian quartet’s masterclass at West Dean castle.
